Ristorante da Mario alla Fava, first opened its doors in 1960, marking the moment when Mario Bonavita’s dream came true. His idea was to open a restaurant that would allow people to rediscover the authentic Venetian cuisine that had been forgotten by residents, neglected by journalists and snubbed by gourmets.
The friendly atmosphere and excellent quality of its food and wine meant that Da Mario alla Fava soon became one of the most renowned restaurants in Venice.
Today, Mario’s sons Guido and Luca run the restaurant with the same passion, presenting traditional Venetian cuisine while devising exciting new dishes.
